Tyler Duvelius

Executive Director, Ohio Conservative Energy Forum

Tyler M. Duvelius has a wealth of experience working on political campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels in Ohio. He also has experience in community and economic development. Tyler was the 2015 & 2017 recipient of the John Kasich Award for Outstanding Male Ohio Young Republican of the Year, and has been recognized for his campaign work during the 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016 election cycles. Tyler was included in the 2017 cohort of Midwest Energy News‘ ’40 Under 40’. In his previous role as State Director of the Ohio Christian Coalition, Tyler had the opportunity to provide critical education and political training to the Christian, pro-family community throughout Ohio. He also serves as the Treasurer of the Ohio Young Republicans and serves the Young Republican National Federation as Midwestern Regional Vice-Chairman. Tyler is a graduate of The Ohio State University and lives in Columbus, Ohio. James L. Ervin, Jr.

Ohio Black Republicans Association

Mr. Ervin is the partner-in-charge at the Columbus office of Roetzel & Andress and a member of the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, Corporate Compliance Practice Group, and Public Law Practice Group. Ervin has extensive experience in the areas of corporate compliance and regulatory enforcement, complex business litigation, and public law. He also serves as the President of the Ohio Black Republican Association, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Franklin County Republican Party, and is an advisor to numerous campaigns and office holders. Ervin is active in the Central Ohio community and has held leadership roles for numerous community and non-profit organizations and causes. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and his J.D. from Capital University School of Law.

Terry McClure

Farmer, Paulding County

Terry W. McClure is President of McClure Farms LLC, which produces corn, soybeans and wheat, and also maintains swine operations in Paulding County. McClure was elected to the Nationwide board in 2004. He is former board chairman of Farmland Mutual Insurance Company and Nationwide Agribusiness Insurance Company. He is also a board member of the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, Ohio Soybean Council, and The Nature Conservancy. McClure currently serves as Chairman of Northwest Ohio Wind LLC, a company bringing community-based utility scale wind farms to Northwest Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio Soybean Association, Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association, Farm Foundation and Soybean Transportation Coalition. He is a former president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and former board member of the Farm Bureau Bank and the American Farm Bureau Federation. McClure has also served as the GOP Statewide Agriculture Chair for multiple presidential, gubernatorial and other statewide campaigns.

Colonel Tom Moe

U.S. Air Force Retired

Colonel Tom Moe served more than 50 years in military and public service and is currently serving as Commissioner to the WWI Centennial Commission (appointed by Speaker of the House John Boehner) and as spokesman for The National Veterans Memorial and Museum. He also served as a member of the Cabinet of Governor John Kasich as Director of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services. His Air Force service included flying the F-4 “Phantom” to include 85 combat missions including 60 over North Vietnam and the F-16. He served as Air Attaché to the U. S. Embassy in Switzerland and, as part of the Foreign Military Sales team there, concluded the sale of 34 F/A 18 fighter aircraft to the Swiss. His earned 24 military awards and decorations including two Silver Stars, two Purple Hearts and the DFC. His public service awards include induction into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame and award of the Daughters of the American Revolution “Medal of Honor.” In 1996 he was awarded the “Silver Medal Award” by The Council for Advancement and Support of Education for “Best Story of the Year” as written for Notre Dame Magazine. In October of 2015, Tom was presented the Rufus Putnam Award by the Grand Lodge of Ohio. The most important thing in the world to Tom is his family--his lovely wife of 52 years, Chris and his three children and six grandchildren. He and his wife live on a small farm in Ohio.

Sarah Spence

Immediate Past Chairman, Ohio Young Republicans

Sarah Spence is a native of Oak Hill, Ohio, but has called Columbus home for over a decade. She currently serves as the immediate past chairman of the Ohio Young Republicans, Secretary of the Young Republican National Federation, and member of the Ohio Public Benefits Advisory Board. Sarah has worked on campaigns on the local, state, Congressional and national levels. In her professional life, she is the Director of Government Affairs for the Ohio Environmental Council, where she advocates for bi-partisan, pragmatic solutions to keep Ohio’s air, water, and public lands clean and protected. She is involved in ministry with Xenos Christian Fellowship, a proud OU alumna, enthralled by ancient Greek and Egyptian cultures, and loves travel and sports.

Brian Stewart

Pickaway County Commissioner

Brian Stewart is a lifelong resident of southern Ohio, a Pickaway County Commissioner, and an Iraq War veteran. After experiencing 9/11 as a high school senior, Brian enlisted for active duty in the Army in 2003 and volunteered to serve in the infantry. After graduating from Basic Training and Airborne School, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division, and was soon deployed to the Sadr City area of Baghdad in Iraq. During a yearlong deployment in 2005, he conducted more than 150 combat patrols in the city. For his actions, Mr. Stewart earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB), and was twice awarded the Army Commendation Medal before he was honorably discharged in 2006.

Zach Upton

Beavercreek City Councilman

Mr. Upton is a native of Beavercreek, Ohio, where he currently serves on City Council. He is a past Chairman of the Ohio Young Republicans, after serving in numerous leadership roles with the organization. He has worked on numerous GOP campaigns ranging from local to statewide races and is one of the leading young conservatives in Ohio. Mr. Upton is a client sales manager with Synchrony Financial, formerly GE Capital, where he manages a portfolio of $550 Million of Private Label Credit Card business across key clients in the Furniture Industry. He and his wife Heather, have one daughter and live in Beavercreek with their two Black Labradors, Chi and Abbey.
